Got some questions? I might have some answers.
How much do you charge for weddings
You can find all that information on the INVESTMENT page.
Do you have an assistant and/or a second photographer?
I typically will have an assistant, it’s rare that I do not. A second photographer is included in every package as having a second shooter frees up the main shooter for creative shots and allows for the day to move much more smoothly.
Do I need a second shooter for the wedding day?
Long story short, yes, I would highly recommend having one. Having a second shooter for your wedding day allows you to have a different perspective, higher efficiency and and to ensure that between both photographers we do not miss those treasured moments. The other positive is while one is photographing one event, the other is free to capture another. There are always a lot of things going on in a wedding and not all of it is in the same room.
Do I get to keep the printing rights to all the images?
Yes! You will get a custom USB drive that will have high resolution images that you can print yourself. I would recommend purchasing your gift size prints through MPIX as they offer great prices and amazing quality! Places like Walmart, Costco, etc. just aren’t trained on how to properly print a professional image.
Do you edit and/or touch up all your photos?
Every image that we provide will be edited. The edits are things such as color corrections, exposure (brightness), color tones and contrast.
Can you Photoshop something out for me? (scars, relatives, item in the background)
We certainly can do that for you at your request. Anything beyond a normal edit (as mentioned above) and/or touch up will require an additional fee that will be discussed per image.
Do we get every image you take on our wedding day?
I wish I could but not every photo is going to be delivered as we are about quality over quantity. Test shots, closed eyes and such are not images anyone is going to want included.
Do you photograph the rehearsal dinner?
If you would like us to attend the rehearsal dinner, and we’re available, we sure can for an additional fee.
Do you help me plan out the wedding day timeline?
YES! I like to work together with my couples on their timeline. If you already have a wedding planner involved I still like to go over the timeline. This will ensure we have adequate time for photos as well as it helps you figure out just which wedding collection you most likely want based on hours. A wedding timeline is a must as it will help keep a scheduled flow for the day so that it can run as smoothly as possible.

Can my family member and/or friend photograph the day alongside of you?
While I would never want to disrespect anyone I would advise against having them follow around with a camera. The wedding day is a very stressful day on everyone involved and we as photographers have a lot on our minds with shots, creative thinking and the timeline. I am sure they’re a fine photographer but we just do not want the possibility of delays, missing shots, creative issues or anything of that nature. If they would like one-on-one mentoring they can always contact us after the wedding. :-)
Do you suggest doing a first look for our wedding day?
Yes, yes and one more time, yes! We would highly recommend you doing a first look as allows for the flow of the day to run much more efficiently as well as you will have more time for photos early on. Of course it is not mandatory but highly recommended.
Do you do family formals?
Why yes we do. Wedding day formal photos are one tradition that we always recommend doing. It’s not often that many people that love and care about you will all be in the same room. As time goes on these chances become fewer and fewer. Let’s be sure to document that moment where everyone came together for you.
Can I reserve my wedding date?
Yes but we require a non-refundable retainer to hold the wedding date. We cannot hold any dates without the retainer and a signed contract. Wedding dates are reserved on a first come first serve basis.
Why do you need a retainer?
The non-refundable retainer and a signed contract reserves your date to where we won’t even entertain any offers for another session on your wedding day. We only will book one wedding per day so that we can concentrate entirely on you.
What if by chance we need to change the date or even cancel our wedding after the contract has been signed?
If your wedding date has been moved and you’ve given us enough of a notice, we can move the date as long as it does not interfere with another date already booked. If you decided to cancel your wedding date, for whatever reason, the retainer fee is kept in full. This is because the moment you sign your contract we do not entertain any other offers for the date you set. We hold that day exclusively for you.
Well... What if you cancel on us?
So far (knock on wood) I have never had any reason that I have had to cancel a wedding. If I was to perish (gulp), or unable to make it due to a family emergency or by any act which is entirely out of our control we will make sure to find you a competent photographer that meets our quality standards. This would be entirely at OUR expense and not yours.
Do you need a meal during the reception?
If you could please do so, we would really appreciate it! Being one of the few vendors that is with you from start to finish, we can become quite famished. We’d love to be able to eat the same as your guests if possible. We just ask that the venue knows that we would like to eat directly after the bridal party and parents start eating. This is so that we can finish ASAP so that we can continue our coverage of the night.
Can I see your albums? What do they look like?
Yes you may! We offer leather and fabric albums at various sizes and patterns.
How long till I my album arrives?
Once we have agreed on a design for the album(s), it can typically take 6-8 weeks for your albums to be delivered.
Do you travel? Do you do destination weddings?
Why yes, yes we do. We work with our clients to find agreeable and affordable travel options so that we can arrive promptly on your wedding day. Our wedding collections for destination weddings are priced differently so be sure to contact us for further details.
Do I really need an engagement session?
We require an engagement session for all collections booked as it’s very crucial for all involved. The e-session allows us to get to know one another better. It also helps you both become more comfortable being in front of the camera. By doing this, you’ll learn our approach to how we work, pose and shoot which will make the wedding day run just that much more efficient and effective.
How long do engagement sessions take and are weekends available?
Engagement sessions take usually around 2-3 hours depending on the location and ideas/details involved. Because we work most weekends shooting, we try to book during the week if possible. An hour or two before sunset is one of the best times for an e-session. So we can shoot shortly after most get off of work.
If my wedding is out of town, can you still take our engagement photos?
We sure can! If the wedding is not local to us or is a destination wedding we could meet on an earlier date in advance. For destination weddings typically we can show up two days prior to the wedding and do your e-sessions there.
How will I get my engagement photos?
After the engagement session is over we will setup an in person session so you can review all your photos to decide what wall art you’ll want to hang in your home.
What’s the average spent during an engagement review session?
On average our couples spend roughly $900 to $1900 on wall art such as canvas gallery wraps, mounted wall portraits or even albums.
Are you insured?
Yes I am. I can provide this to your venue if they require it.
Do you offer discounts for off season or weekday weddings?
I wish we could but no matter what day the wedding is, we still do the same amount of work as it would be on a weekend.
Should we make a shot-list for you?
We would not require a shot list other than a family formal list. What I would ask is that you mention during the consultation of any special details, moments or items (such as heirlooms) that you would like captured. A heavily detailed shot list can hinder the creativity if we’re constantly trying to check off every box.
Does sales tax apply to us?
Yes. I am required by the state to charge sales tax.
